PDC's diaphragm compressors can be used to compress hydrogen, natural gas, methane, and mixed gases such as Hythane ® at the pressure and purity needed for fuel uses.  Our compressors are currently in active service in vehicle fueling stations for both natural gas and hydrogen.  PDC can construct these compressors so they can be used with either gas, making them the best choice for fueling stations built for immediate use with natural gas while maintaining the flexibility necessary for a possible future switchover to hydrogen.

This same flexibility also makes these compressors capable of compressing both the feedstock and product from reformers.  Since PDC's compressors provide contamination-free compression to pressures as high as 60,000 psig (4,100 bar), they are perfect for filling hydrogen storage vessels for stationary, mobile, and portable fuel cell applications.
